Recount Writing - Cross Country

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.

                                   Cross Country
“Ready, set, go!” shouted Whaea Rosina.
It was Wednesday morning. I was racing the rest of the 7 and 8 year olds. We were racing at the Padlie farm. Our racing course was gigantic and hard to run. It had a hill to race up and puddles to race through and lots of paddocks to run around. My group had to race around the course twice.
When I got up the hill my heart was pumping as fast  as a racecar. While I was running I was breathing hard and fast. When  I was running down the hill I felt like I was going to fall over.  When I got to the puddles I ran straight through the water. My legs felt like wobbly jelly.  While I was running I heard the parents screaming and yelling and I heard Miss Simeon supporting the runners. My side felt like I got stabbed with a knife. It was very painful  when I was on my second lap. I saw parents cheering and I saw a lot of nature. All of a sudden I got a terrible pain in my chest. I was crying because it was so painful.
Whaea Mari said to me, “Are you alright?” I said, “No.”
Whaea Mari took me back to Whaea Rosina and Whaea Dawnette. They told me to sit down. So I sat with them till the 7 and 8 year old’s race was finished.
I was watching the rest of the kids run. After cross country I felt tired.
It was amazing at the Padlie farm doing cross country even though I didn’t finish my race.
